South East University Makes Igbo Language A Compulsory Course.

Hahahaha!!! A new introduction to the system of Gregory University, Uturu (GUU), Abia State, igbo language to be made a compulsory course for second year students.At the sixth edition of  the Igbo (Uturu) Cultural Carnival, Prof. Ihechukwu Madubuike, Director, Igbo Renaissance made this announcement.
This is a means to preserving Igbo language as advised by the traditional ruler of Oko in Anambra state and a former Minister of Education, Igwe Laz Ekwueme.

Prof. Ihechukwu Madubuike said,
"By the next two years, the university plans to introduce the Igbo language as a compulsory subject for all students in the second year. Whether you are Yoruba, Hausa or Efik, you must take Igbo as a compulsory subject, in spite of your area of specialisation."
There is a growing fear that the igbo language among other Nigerian language face a serious threat of possible extinction and parents are advised to use the Igbo language in their homes as a major means of communication with their offspring.
Students resuming next year into the school should get ready, Igbo Language is a compulsory! Start learning from the image above. LOL!!
